Groupon has a couple of good Memphis deals going on right now. You can get $25 worth of shipping at UPS for $12. This would be great if you are shipping Christmas packages. It's good at the Kirby Parkway or South Highland Memphis stores. Jump on it quick, looks like this deal will end Tuesday night. If you haven't signed up for Groupon do so here and then go to SwagBucks then click 'earn' on the top bar, then 'daily deals' .You can buy the Groupon deals through SwagBucks and earn 308 SwagBucks!

Also, If you have been wanting to organize a space in your home you might want to take advantage of the 'Extra Pair of Hands' Groupon deal. This would also make a nice present. You get 2 hours of help for $25! She does packing/unpacking, painting, errands, and so much more. I think I'm going to get this one. I wonder if she does cleaning?

Gotta love boys!!

I don't know why, but my son thought he'd see if he could chop up a can of spray paint with an ax. I'm sure we will be washing spray paint out of his ears for weeks. I love boys! Seriously! There's never a dull moment and if you have more than one adventurous boy you're probably used to much more excitement than this!

$25 for starting a new kid's savings account

I did this deal this afternoon. I takes a bit of work, but could be well worth it. I was going to set up an account for each of my kiddos, but ran into a bit of a road block. I went through all of the steps and set up account #1 then I went to set up account #2 and had to enter all this security question junk just to get to a screen that said something about there being a problem with my account and to call 1-800-something-or-other. I called and the very nice customer service rep said the had to verify my regular checking account before I could open any more accounts. This will involve them depositing some change into my checking account and then me signing into the new ING account and entering the amounts they deposited, so they know it's really my account. He didn't see that the $25 had immediately been deposited so he went ahead and put it in there. He also gave me a code to use when I set up my other kids accounts so that I will be able to take advantage of the $25 credit next week. Sigh! So, you see this entails a bit of work, but if I spend and hour on it that would be $100 for an hours work. Not to bad! You will need your bank routing number, account number, ss#, and kids ss# to set these up.
Open a Kid’s Savings Account with ING by November 28, 2010, and they’ll put a $25 bonus in the account. You only need to deposit $.51 to get the $25.00 bonus! Here’s how to set up the account:
Go to ING and click on the ING Direct Logo in the upper left hand corner.
Then, click on the “Save Till You Drop” Black Friday graphic.
Click on the Kid’s Savings Account option and it will walk you though the steps to open up an account.
Once you’ve signed up and deposited the $0.51, the $25 bonus should show up right away. The $25 bonus begins earning interest as soon as you open the account and is available for withdrawal after 30 days.

Black Friday Shopping

Did you do any Black Friday shopping? I used to enjoy getting up early and going out to get some great deals, BUT not anymore. My sleep has become more and more precious over the past few years. I did go out tonight to pick up some Black Friday specials that Walgreens had going on all week-end. My before tax total was $1.65. That sounds so much better than my total out of pocket, which was $5.29. I did these deals in 4 transactions and used lots of coupons and Register Rewards A.K.A. Jingle Cash for the holidays.
Here's what I got for my $5.29.

  • Hawaiian Punch
  • Oral B Toothbrush
  • Gum Flossers
  • Nivea shave cream
  • Crest toothpaste
  • Gallon of milk
  • 3 rolls of wrapping paper
  • 3 rolls of tape
  • 2 vaseline lotion
  • Olay body wash
  • Secret body spray
  • Old Spice body spray
  • Herbal Essence shampoo
  • Scunci hair bands
  • Thermacare heat wrap
  • Tuf paper towels

Buttery Yeast Rolls

These are the best rolls ever. They would go great with Thanksgiving Dinner. I found this recipe on food.com

1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup warm milk
1 egg
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 package dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoon)
1/4 cup melted butter for brushing on rolls

Place all ingredients except the 1/4 cup melted butter into bread machine. Select the dough cycle and start machine. When the dough is done shape dough into balls and place in buttered pan. I just threw my dough in the pan, but if you roll them in nice little balls they will come out very pretty.

Take some of the melted butter and brush it over the tops of rolls, saving the excess for brushing on after baking. Cover and let rise in a warm place about 1-2 hours, or until double in bulk.
Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Brush baked rolls with remaining butter.
After baking you can freeze these rolls and when you are ready to serve just warm them in a 250 degree oven for about 20 minutes.
